Income inequality in Toronto - Still safe?

So far we have mainly focused on the USA when talking about the growing income gap and it’s consequences. A recent post by the Huffington post shows that also Canada experiences a similar phenomenon.

This graph shows the development in Toronto in the last 40 years and the projection into 2025. Short: The poor get poorer, the rich get richer and the middle class disappears. Is this maybe the reason for the growing number of homicides in Toronto?

Also the rich should not forget, that a growing income gap means more tensions and finally less safety for everyone.
